Journalist visits Concord High School

Our yr 10 G & T class and our journalists from year 10 were lucky enough to hear from Tony Maniaty- a distinguished television journalist and more recently a consultant for the film 'Balibo' Together with his wife , Amanda, they had earlier contacted the school and offered to come and deliver a presentation on this topical and controversial subject. Students were able to hear about Tony's experiences from when he was actually reporting from Balibo before the Indonesian invasion and more recently his activities a a consultant to the director for the making of the film 'Balibo.' Students saw pictures and images together with some clips from the movie. The whole experience was of immense interest to the students and concluded with a series of questions and answers.

Tony and Amanda concluded their visit to the school with another presentation in the form of his latest book on the subject and  a promotional DVD for the movie. The school was very appreciative and would love to host our guests again sometime soon.
