Connected Classroom Conference at Concord High School

Concord High School has now officially joined in the video conferencing world by joining into its first official video conference hosted by Cecil Hills High School on July 1st. . The guest speaker was the Queensland author Pat Flynn, famous for his Stage 4 book- ‘The Tuckshop Kid.’

Our Year 8 GAT class enjoyed the insight provided by Pat’s running commentary as each participating school was invited to ask him a specific question. Monica, from Yr 8, asked him about the structure and condensation of time in his book- a fine question which allowed Pat to convey the skill in professional writing.

Pat also performed a selected reading from his book and each school waved goodbye and signed off. The whole conference went for about 40 minutes and Yr 8 left with a revealing look into the mind of a published author and storyteller. They also had a keen look at the technology involved in video conferencing
